I noticed that by adding an entire TV series, with several seasons, only the episodes from the third season onwards are added to the playout; in fact, it starts from S03E07 on any TV series I try to insert!
It seems like a bug, but I can't figure out why.

edit: I also noticed that the first episode at the start of the playout starts beyond the halfway point.
