Marathon might not be working as intended?

This post is a bit of a follow-up to my previous post (thank you for your hard work on getting that feature added so quickly!)

I have two comments regarding the Marathon option that you recently added.

1: Say I have a collection of shows, and I would like episodes of some shows to shuffle, while other shows in the same collection play in chronological order. Is that at all possible? Or could that be brute forced by having multiple collections set up differently?

2: Currently, I have two collections in the same schedule. One is set to Marathon 3 episodes of each show repeatedly until the other collection, which contains movies, takes over for one movie at 20:00 every day. I have the playout mode of the movie collection set to "One", but it will schedule 3 movies right in a row, like the other collection. I also tried this with it set to "Multiple(1)" to the same result, and I have also messed with the order of the schedule, which didn't change anything either. Is this intended, or am I missing a setting to fix this?

That's the tradeoff for having a simple auto-group marathon system. If you'd like more customization, I made the following changes to the latest develop build, which enable another marathon-like system using playlists directly. Add each show to the playlist (you can search for shows, click and shift-click to select a bunch, then use the add to playlist button), and set playback order and count on each as desired.

Add Count setting to each playlist item
Previously, when Play All was unchecked, this was implicitly 1

Now, the playlist can play a specific number of items from the collection before moving to the next playlist item

Classic schedules: add Shuffle Playlist Items setting to shuffle the order of playlist items
Shuffling happens initially (on playout reset), and after all items from the entire playlist have been played

This is unexpected, but I would have to see more details about your schedule (how each item is configured) to understand the source of that behavior.

Nothing looks wrong there, so I'm stumped for now.

You can dm me your ersatztv.sqlite3 database file from ETV's config folder, either here or in discord and that should make it much easier to figure out what's happening.

This was a bug with the way flood interacts with flexible fixed start times (the flood ended up not scheduling anything and the movie schedule item ended up being used a number of times to fill out the rest of the day).

Fixed with https://github.com/ErsatzTV/ErsatzTV/pull/2414

Fix is available in release v25.6.0
