Hey!
I'm new to ErsatzTV, and I am really impressed with the software...I've been looking for an application like this for a while and am excited to have came across it.
So far, the install went smooth and I have two basic beginner channels up and going on my Plex server. Since I also have an OTA HDHomerun device connected to my Plex server as well, getting guide data for both devices to show properly in Plex has been tricky and I learned the other day about using an application called Threadfin to basically create one pseudo HDHR device so that Plex can show all my channels from both devices correctly.
I setup Threadfin yesterday and encountered an issue where no channels would appear within the "Matches" section, but all of the channels would appear within the "Filter" section. I used ChatGPT to help troubleshoot, and after some time, it came to the conclusion that Threadfin need the xml header within the XMLTV file...the XMLTV file that is downloaded from my machine doesn't have an xml header on it, and that's what was causing the channels not to show up in the Matches section of Threadfin. It helped me write a python script that adds the header in the file, but was having trouble with getting that workaround to work...the file would somehow end up with an html header by the time it made it to Threadfin.
After spending a solid day and a half fixated on this to the point where my brain feels fried and my eyes feel crossed lol, I really am in need of some help or guidance. Does ErsatzTV typically create an xml header on the first line of the XMLTV file it produces? If not, is there a solid work around....maybe a different application that works better with ErsatzTV?
Thank you in advance! 🙂
